Birmingham Office Refurbishment


Client - Cable & Wireless

Location – Reception, 2nd, 3rd & 5th floor, Cornwall Street
Size – 40,000 sq.ft
Project Value - £850,000

Nature of work - Refurbishment of existing redundant office space and upgrading to current Building Control and DDA Regulations. All work was exercised with over 200 staff in-situ and completed in three phases over 12 months, with minimum disruption to staff. The project also gave C&W opportunity to enhance the work environment and close two near buildings, The Mailbox and Solihull Parkway.

The project included the following:

·New entrance Reception – major structural alterations with bespoke desk

·Temporary Reception to maintain day to day business

·Relocation of 300 person directory enquiry and “999” Call Centre with zero down time and zero requirement to divert incoming calls

·New Customer Presentation suite with the latest Video Conferencing equipment and multi-media technology

·Relocation of 400 staff

·New corporate artwork and colour scheme

·New desking and breakout furniture

The following services were required to complete project:

·Overall Programme Management liaising with internal C&W staff and external Contractors.

·Interior Design

·Space planning and space utilisations

·Storage Survey

·Relocation management dealing with end-users and external removals contractor

·Project monitoring and reporting to C&W Property and Client Contact

·Client Representative Role for dealing C&W Legal team and Landlords Agent

·Project Documentation and Contract administration

·Furniture procurement & installation Project Management

·Cost Management and Budget Control

·Full Project Management ensuring the project was delivered on-time and within budget.
